This camp features a small group setting, providing a nurturing environment that fosters close attention to each child. Feel at home wherever you are! Your child will develop an excellent sense of teamwork and leadership by learning basic fort and shelter building skills and techniques. This camp is sure to invoke a passion for structure creation and much more outdoor play to come.

Unlock your creative spirit in the tranquil state of nature. Your child will become familiar with recognizing art in nature, created by tiny creatures. They will also take part in natural pigment painting, mandala and sculpture creations. Inspiration is everywhere, if you know just where to look! Enroll Now!
July 8 – 11
We will spend time discovering our ecosystem, its inhabitants and how they interact. We will be encouraging more positive activity by building “insect hotels”, creating our own “habitats” and observing the active world around us through stillness, movement and shallow creek exploration. What is Forest Schooling?
Forest Schooling is European-born, nature-based learning that embraces the child as a whole. The content is fluid, focusing on outdoor play, exploration and discovery. Outdoor learning creates an environment for children to safely and naturally gauge how to manage risk, develop exceptional critical thinking skills, and gain an elevated emotional intelligence. Our summer camp will be an excellent way for your child to unwind from a rigorous school year and so much more!
About The Property
Nestled in 50 beautiful wooded acres, sets a rustic pioneer built cabin from the early 1800s. We share our land with an abundance of wildlife and plant life. There is no running water or electricity, but fresh drinking water will be provided and there is a private outdoor bathroom facility available.
About The Instructor
Kate Frankenberry is a mother of two and lover of all things outdoors. She obtained her bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education from Ohio University in Athens, Ohio. Since completion, She has worked within the Newark City School district as well as taking part in several educational opportunities abroad. The most recent educational adventure has been homeschooling!
The Forest School Summer Camp will be held outdoors in all weather (with the exception of unsafe weather, we will head to the cabin for indoor space), so dress your children appropriately. While safety is a priority and we expect no serious injury, preparation is key and I am Adult, Child and Baby First Aid/CPR/AED Certified by the American Red Cross. There is more information about the camp and what you will need to send with your child in the Parent Information Form, which will be emailed prior to camp. We will provide a morning snack (apple/orange). All campers are invited for lunch, so pack a non-refrigerated lunch and join us!
